Periodontal pockets

Periodontal pocket or gingivitis is the space between inflamed gums and tooth root. Periodontal pockets are the most significant sign of periodontal disease. Teeth sensitivity to other stimuli is symptom of disease. Dentists apply causal therapy for removal of tartar from periodontal pockets. Causal therapy is conducted under local anesthesia and it is completely painless.

It is recommended to visit your dentist regularly in order to prevent tooth decay and development of periodontal disease in later stage. Dental clinic Lopičić offers preventive dental examinations.

If tooth decay develops to the stage when periodontal pockets are formed, dental intervention is absolutely necessary. If gingivitis is not treated, inflammation will develop and spread to alveolar bone causing diseases of other remoted human body organs.

Treatment of periodontal pockets – Removal of tartar by laser and teeth polishing

Red, swollen gums which bleed during teeth washing are symptoms of periodontal disease. The first step in treatment of periodontal pockets is tartar removal from teeth. The next step is teeth polishing with brushes. There is no dentist who can guarantee you that once treated periodontal disease will not develop again. It is possible that it might develop again, in couple of months or couple of years. It depends on you and your oral hygiene. If you maintain proper and regular oral hygiene and if you visit your dentist regularly for preventive dental examinations, you can postpone redevelopment of periodontal disease.
