Besides practicing oral hygiene at home, you also need support from the dentist. The first and basic advice for having healthy and shiny smile is regular washing of your teeth and tongue. In order to keep your teeth healthy and strong, besides washing them you need to have balanced diet. Also, you should visit your dentist for preventive exams, at least once a year. Oral hygiene, which is necessary, comprises set of everyday activities which we have to perform if we want to have healthy and strong teeth. It is necessary to wash our teeth at least twice every day – first time in the morning after getting up, second time in the evening before going to bed.
It is recommended to wash our teeth more than twice a day-the best would be to wash them after each meal. For practicing oral hygiene, you should use toothbrush, toothpaste and dental floss. You can additionaly improve your oral hygiene by using mouthwash after washing your teeth. You can use dental floss after each meal to prevent creating of invisible dental plaque which forms between teeth.
When washing your teeth with the brush, make sure to perform right movements and to brush your teeth for two to three minutes. You should wash your teeth in the morning and in the evening. The production of saliva decreases during the sleep what allows bacteria to multiply faster, thus causing faster degradation of dental tissue and making damage.
If you are reckless and lazy, your teeth will suffer. Do not let that happen! You should regularly wash your teeth minimum twice a day – in the morning and in the evening. The bristles of the toothbrush which you use should be made out of synthetic fibres. Also, you should use toothbrush labelled with „medium“ or „soft“in order to prevent damaging of gums.
After washing your teeth, rinse well your toothbrush and place it in the upright position to get dried well for the next use. You should replace your toothbrush every two to three months. You should know the proper tooth washing technique. If you use the proper technique, you need approximately three minutes for regular teeth washing.
